Editorial Reviews

"[The videos] offer realistic exposure to lecture styles, student and instructor behaviour and expected interaction or lack thereof as well. The settings offer a representation of how technology is used in the classroom. The pace of the lecture is suitable for students to practice note-taking skills. These are an excellent replacement for actual class visits." --Patricia Birch

"I like the break-down of skills in the book and the fact that each are covered in detail; often something like note-taking is treated quite perfunctorily." --Susan A. Curtis

"Authentic, interesting and engaging lectures that allow students to practice and hone their note-taking and critical listening skills." --Bill Hodges

"The video lectures provide an example of presentation organization and style while allowing for opportunities to listen for main ideas and supporting details with authentic topics and style." --Lisa Dubrick

"Relevant and useful skills and language. Logical organization which is well-structured. Good lectures that provide models of the lecture language and an opportunity to practice note-taking skills." --Gill Atkinson
